FED: Choosing a school in Australia is guesswork: Gillard
Deputy Prime Minister JULIA GILLARD says choosing the best school for your children
is little more than guesswork.
The federal education minister has told News limited parents are being forced to rely
on rumour and prejudice rather than basing their decision on facts.
Ms GILLARD is proposing schools make public as much information as they can .. from
the qualifications of their teachers to comparing their students' performance against
groups of similar schools.
She says parents need more objective information to take the guesswork out of making a decision.
