Vic: Two dead in Victoria crashes overnight

MELBOURNE, April 15 AAP - Victoria's Easter road toll stands at two this morning after
the deaths of two people in separate crashes early today.

In the first, a 19-year-old Churchill passenger was killed when the car she was in
left the road and hit a street light and then a tree on Princes Highway near Traralgon
in southern Victoria about 1.30am (AEST).

Police believe the driver lost control of the vehicle and veered into the middle of
the highway before running off the road.

The woman was trapped in the vehicle for up to two hours before being airlifted to
the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, where she died shortly afterwards, police said in a
statement.

The 17-year-old female driver, also from Churchill, was taken to La Trobe Regional
Hospital with serious injuries.

About 30 minutes later, a driver died in the south-western coastal township of Princetown
when the vehicle left the road, hit a fence and burst into flames.

The driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene and has yet to be identified.
