SA: Man wounded in drive-by shooting

ADELAIDE, Aug 26 AAP - A 40-year-old man is recovering in hospital after a drive-by
shooting in Adelaide's western suburbs last night.

Police said the man was shot once in his upper left leg after being approached by a
car in Herbert Street at West Croydon about 8.30pm (CST).

He was standing alone on the street and police said a semi-automatic handgun was used
in the attack.

The man called his wife who drove him to the nearby hospital about 10pm (CST).

His injuries are not life-threatening.

Police are yet to find a motive for the unprovoked attack.

The gunman was described as Caucasian, about 35 years of age, 170cm tall and of heavy build.

He was wearing a green jacket and driving an aqua late model Ford sedan at the time
of the attack.
